Name: Laila Rahman
Studio: Leylarh Cadne
Specialty: Fantasy, Fashion, Celebrity, Bridal
Fantasy makeup is the art of creating an experience with your look. Its an art form that is intuitive and very few artists can execute it amazingly well. Laila Rahman (Leylarh Cadne) is one of the few MUAs whose makeup work elicits emotion while telling a story.
Laila was part of the winning team at the 2014 Fayrouz L’Original competition. In 2014, she released her lookbook which received awesome feedback from top fashion and beauty blogs including Bella Naija. According to BN, the lookbook was compiled to show “how skillfully she can spin the human face into a work of art with a stroke of a brush“. She explores her creativity through painting and craft and dares to “walk on the wild side of makeup”.
Last month, Laila teamed up with fashion blogger, Toyin Jolapomo and talented photographer, Emmanuel Oyeleke. The photoshoot was inspired by the need to showcase growing talents in the fashion industry. The ladies wore pieces from Pearls and Portraits, Gozel Green, LL Krafts and Rayo by L. Somoye amongst others with body off centre makeup done by Leylarh Cardne against a simple grey background.
Laila deserves to be the MUA of the month due to her versatility. Laila is also skilled in celebrity makeup and her skilled hands have enhanced the faces of DJ Cuppy, Fade Ogunro, Stephanie Coker, Aphrodija and more! Laila most recently did the makeup for the cover of Guardian Life Magazine's latest issue featuring Yemi Alade, Fade Ogunro, DJ Cuppy, Stephanie Coker, Yagazie Emezi and Ronke Bamisedun.
Laila was one of the few makeup artists who was involved in the 2014 Lagos Fashion & Design Week and is also in the bridal makeup game as well.
